The Beau Cote treatment model is based on an integration of a body-mind-emotions-spirit approach with individual and group therapy, family therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, Integrated Body Psychotherapy, experiential therapies, complimentary therapies as yoga, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, and other modalities.

Federal Correctional Institutions in the Eastern Fraser Valley
The Need
A combination of improves assessments and services as well as tendency for people with untreated mental disorders to commit crimes has lead to an increase in the number of offenders who are identified as mentally disordered. To respond to this trend, the Correctional Service of Canada has been authorized to pilot programs in selected institutions to address the need. Qualified mental health professionals (Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Nurses and Psychologists) are needed for this project.
Nature of the Work
As a member of a small mental health initiative team in a federal institution, you will be involved in the assessing, counselling and referring cases that require mental health intervention. You will act as a consultant to Case Managers, Program Facilitators, Health care and Psychological Services as well as act as a liaison with mental health specialists in other locations in the Correctional Service of Canada. This will include making referrals to mental health specialists (i.e. Psychiatry). Provide supportive counselling to offenders suffering from mental disorders.
Qualifications
Registration in your discipline and the ability to work with difficult clients and complex inter-agency organizations is required. Previous work experience in a correctional setting is an asset.
