printed collective agreements available soon

Public Service members should have their copies before the end of October. UPN will distribute copies at Riverview and FPH. All others will receive their copies by mail. We're told the health sector nurses' agreements have been printed, and the Employer will be distributing them soon.

seniority in the health sector

The Labour Relations Board has ruled that for the purposes of bumping, filling unfilled vacancies, and recall only, the Province has been divided into 12 seniority areas. For all other collective agreement purposes, seniority is generally, but not always, work site seniority. All UPN steward/contacts in the health sector have copies of the seniority areas.

health sector - removal of letters of reprimand

Members who have letters of reprimand resulting from illegal job action are reminded the 18 month time limit is just about up and you should have the letters removed from your files.

health sector reclassification abitration

Arbitration still scheduled for October 21 and 22. Most supervisors and geriatric outreach nurses are being paid the correct rate but retroactivity remains unresolved.

kamploops facility

UPN is working with PSERC and Riverview Hospital in an attempt to get the prior commitment kept that Riverview nurses will have first crack at the jobs in the new Kamloops facilities and will be able to transfer without loss of seniority or benefits.

entertainment 2003 books

Entertainment 2003 books may be pre-ordered through the UPN office up to November 15th. Cost is $46 per book. Proceeds go to the Alzheimer Society.
